"Guollywood" is an example of neologism, a coining of a new word more or less due to necessity. Will this word catches on? Very likely so, in my humbled personal opinion. Here's why.
We all know how powerful Hollywood is, and there is a Bollywood in India. What about China?
China's movie industry needs a corresponding "__llywood" for symmetry and "fairness" Incidentally, the chairman of Foxconn (Hon Hai) 郭台銘 is getting into the movie industry in a big way. Neologism rarely occurs between two different languages, but in a global village, something like this is bound to happen soon or later. Why not honor 郭台銘 for his effort with this quirky new phrase "郭萊塢"
